“Her Mother’s Diamonds, Her Own Ring”

Grey cushion-cut spinel diamond ring refurbished from client's mother's old jewellery

The finished piece — reborn, still unmistakably hers

From one conversation to a collection

1. How It Began

She brought in her mum’s old jewellery, and we went through what was there together: rings, pendants, earrings and more, in gold and white gold, with diamonds and coloured stones.

The plan was simple: one new ring, built around the parts of her mum’s jewellery worth keeping.

2. The Consultation & Assessment

Here’s how it worked. She traded in the pieces she no longer wanted, and their value went towards the cost of her new ring. So her mum’s jewellery didn’t just sit in a drawer. It helped pay for what came next. The diamonds were a different story. Those she kept. They were the part of her mum’s jewellery she wanted to carry forward.

3. Deciding What Stays

The diamonds stay, but the centre needed a new star. She chose a pink spinel, soft in colour and a little unexpected, with the old diamonds set around it. She kept it a natural stone, like everything we make.

4. The Design & Sketch

We started with three rough ideas (A, B and C). She then chose option B, a stepped, staggered look with diamonds clustered on either side of the spinel, we then went on to a 3D render in two versions, so she could see how it would sit. She ultimately went with B2.

"Not every piece that means something is still being worn. Sometimes it’s sitting in a drawer because it no longer fits a life, a style, or a hand it was made for decades ago. This one’s proof that the sentiment doesn’t have to stay packed away — it just needed a piece that could keep up with her."
